All Southwest Parke Schools will conduct synchronous e-learning on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Students should receive information from their schools and teachers regarding what times to be online. Please be sure that students are logged on and active at the assigned times.

A huge thank you to our teachers, support staff, students, and parents/guardians for making our first day of synchronous learning such a success! With over 97% attendance (281 out of 289 students participated!), our students showed up ready to learn, and everyone navigated the learning platform with patience, flexibility, and a strong effort.
Nothing replaces the value of in-person learning and being together in our classrooms, but this alternative allows learning to continue on the virtual platform when needed. We truly appreciate the teamwork and flexibility shown by all, and we’re grateful for the continued partnership that helps support our students—no matter the setting.

Tomorrow, January 27, will be our first day of synchronous learning (the blue column on the Virtual Learning Guide). Students should be logged into their Chromebook and ready to join their Google Meet by 9:00am.
Students have practiced how to log in, access Google Classroom, and join their Meet, and most should be able to complete these steps independently. That said, this is our first experience with live virtual instruction, and we understand there may be questions or technical issues along the way.
Please be sure students:
• Have their Chromebook charged
• Are in a quiet workspace, if possible
• Log in on time to ensure they are marked present for attendance
Attendance will be taken during the live session. If your child experiences internet or technology difficulties, or if there is a conflict that prevents them from attending at the scheduled time, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Cleghorn as soon as possible so we can work together on an alternative plan.
This is a new learning platform for all of us—students, staff, and families alike. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through this first synchronous learning day together. Our goal is to support students while continuing meaningful instruction, and we will partner closely with families to make this a positive experience.

All Southwest Parke Schools will conduct asynchronous e-learning tomorrow - Monday, January 26, 2026. Teachers will be available via email to assist with lesson related matters that may arise. Please reach out to them.
The attached image is the Rosedale Elementary Virtual Learning Guide, which outlines the plan for asynchronous and synchronous learning. This document is being shared in advance for planning purposes, should we need to utilize synchronous learning days. Please reach out to Mrs. Cleghorn or your student’s teacher with any questions you may have. Thank you!
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) – Due to uncertainty in the weather forecast, students were sent home with eLearning materials. We have one asynchronous eLearning day (as we have used in the past) available for use. We will utilize that day before moving to synchronous eLearning.
Please encourage students to leave their materials in their backpacks until/if we need to use them. It is important that all materials remain readily available for school. Materials will continue to be sent home until the forecast indicates they are no longer needed.
Additional information will be sent out if we have the need for synchronous eLearning days.
Due to the extreme wind chills forecasted, all Southwest Parke schools will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule tomorrow - Friday, January 23, 2026. Please exercise great caution when traveling to school later in the morning tomorrow!

The Southwest Parke Community School Corporation has concluded its investigation of the incident that occurred on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the conclusion of the boys basketball game at Riverton Parke High School. The school investigation included review of all relevant video from the premises and interviews with several students, staff members who were present, and game officials.
Video evidence from the parking lot shows a student from the visiting school using a fist to strike a student from Riverton Parke High School. Video evidence shows a number of parents from both the visiting school and from Riverton Parke High School intervened and quickly separated the students. Video evidence shows that within minutes several law enforcement personnel and EMS were on the scene, having been alerted to the incident via a 911 call.
Social media reports of this situation have included accusations of racism on the part of Riverton Parke High School and its students. Such accusations are extremely hurtful to the school, its students, and its staff members. Interviews conducted with those who were present - students, staff members, and game officials - do not corroborate the accusation of racism in this incident.
