Thirteen Riverton Parke FFA members traveled to Indianapolis, Wednesday, October 21st - Friday, October 23rd for the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo. The National FFA Convention & Expo is all about growing the next generation of leaders. Riverton Parke FFA joined over 70,000 other FFA members from all across the country for this event. On Wednesday, members started their convention experience with a Student Workshop titled ‘Leadership is Influence.’ In the workshop, students discovered different ways people influence others and learn how great leaders create lasting impact by inspiring those around them. After the workshop, students had time to explore the Expo Hall where students had the opportunity to interact with various businesses and colleges from across the US. Wednesday night ended with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and the Avery Anna and Ty Myers concert. Thursday morning started with the 1st General Session where FFA members heard remarks from Brooke Rollins, United States Secretary of Agriculture, and from keynote speaker, Scott McKain. Members then traveled to Martinsville to tour Ozark Fisheries. Ozark Fisheries is a 4th generation family owned and operated ornamental goldfish and koi farm. Thursday evening was chapter bonding night with dinner, games, and a pool party at the AirBnB. Friday morning, members attended the 4th General Session. In this session, members heard remarks from President Donald Trump, a retiring address from the National FFA Central Region Vice President, Claire Woeppel, and keynote speaker, Reagan Pugh. The trip ended with more time exploring the Expo and all the many career opportunities available to students via the agriculture industry. The trip was organized and chaperoned by FFA advisors, Michaela Woods and Micah Humphreys.
The Riverton Parke FFA Chapter delivered over 180 lunches to local Parke, Vigo, Vermillion, Clay, and Montgomery County farmers on Wednesday, October 7th. Wednesday morning, members prepared the meal which included chili, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and additional snacks. Members then divided into eleven groups to hand deliver the meals to farmers working in the fields. Feed the Farmers has been an annual event for the Riverton Parke FFA Chapter for a number of years. Members enjoy participating in this event as it is their time to say thank you to our farmers for all they do for our community and FFA chapter. The Riverton Parke FFA advisors are Micah Humphreys and Michaela Woods.

Tomorrow night, Riverton Parke is the host school for the first round of football sectionals. This is NOT a RP "home event." As such, we must abide by rules and guidelines set forth by the IHSAA.
Additional lighted parking will be provided behind the school. Please see the map below for the location.
RP passes are NOT allowed. Everyone has to purchase a ticket. Tickets are $8.00. You can purchase tickets in advance online with Eventlink. All tickets sold at the gate will be cash only.
You CAN bring in chairs and such prior to the game to reserve your seat, BUT THE STADIUM AREA MUST BE CLEARED OUT BY 5:00. Gates will be locked and reopened at 5:30 PM for fans to re enter the field after purchasing a ticket.
Fans are allowed to sit on the track when RP has a HOME game, BUT remember that you are within earshot of the officials and subject to ejection upon the request of the officials!
There will be NO LIVE STREAM of the game.
Fans are NOT allowed to be on the playing field at any time until the conclusion of the game. Fans may NOT line up on the field for a "run through" line. Banners, Signs and Flags that impact visibility of other fans, create safety concerns, or contain inappropriate content are not permitted. Electronic noise makers are NOT permitted. NO DRONES.

The Southwest Parke Board of School Trustees will conduct a public hearing and regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 7 PM in the RPHS Library. An Executive Session will follow. The public is invited to attend the regular monthly meeting.
