Thank you so much to our families for navigating synchronous eLearning over the past few days. We had great attendance and participation, and we truly appreciate the many parents and guardians who went above and beyond to ensure students were able to join their Google Meet classes and continue learning despite the weather conditions.

We will conduct another synchronous eLearning day tomorrow (January 29). While we truly miss seeing our students in person and can’t wait to physically be together again in our classrooms at Rosedale Elementary, we are so grateful for everyone’s flexibility during this time. Thank you to our families and students for your continued effort and support. Because of you, we had 97% attendance again today! Please review the attached Google Meet expectations document with your student to help ensure another smooth and successful day of learning. All Southwest Parke Schools will conduct synchronous e-learning on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Students should receive information from their schools and teachers regarding what times to be online. Please be sure that students are logged on and active at the assigned times.

The Southwest Parke Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees will meet in Executive Session on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 6 PM in the Corporation Office. The meeting is in accordance with IC 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)(E):
For discussion of strategy related to school consolidation. This code citation allows the Board to discuss reorganization options available for schools within the district prior to making any recommendations or taking any action.

We've received word that the messages from the SWP corporation office regarding closures/eLearning are not making its way to everyone through the different platforms (text, email, app, and phone call). Shoutout to Our​ Rosedale Elementary Staff, Students and Families!

A huge thank you to our teachers, support staff, students, and parents/guardians for making our first day of synchronous learning such a success! With over 9​7%​ attendance​ (281 out of 289 students participated!), our students showed up ready to learn, and everyone navigated the learning platform with patience, flexibility, and a strong effort.

​Nothing replaces the value of in-person learning and being together in our classrooms​, but this alternative allows learning to continue on the virtual platform when needed. We truly appreciate the teamwork and flexibility shown by all, and we’re grateful for the continued partnership that helps support our students—no matter the setting.

Please refer the attached image if you need assistance with Google Meet. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) - You've got this and so does your student! We are here to support and help however we can.

Tomorrow, January 27, will be our first day of synchronous learning (the blue column on the Virtual Learning Guide). Students should be logged into their Chromebook and ready to join their Google Meet by 9:00am. Students have practiced how to log in, access Google Classroom, and join their Meet, and most should be able to complete these steps independently. That said, this is our first experience with live virtual instruction, and we understand there may be questions or technical issues along the way. Please be sure students: • Have their Chromebook charged • Are in a quiet workspace, if possible • Log in on time to ensure they are marked present for attendance Attendance will be taken during the live session. If your child experiences internet or technology difficulties, or if there is a conflict that prevents them from attending at the scheduled time, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Cleghorn as soon as possible so we can work together on an alternative plan. This is a new learning platform for all of us—students, staff, and families alike. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through this first synchronous learning day together. Our goal is to support students while continuing meaningful instruction, and we will partner closely with families to make this a positive experience. Thank you for your continued support!

Students should complete their Day 3 eLearning packet tomorrow. Should we have any additional school closures, we will switch to synchronous learning. Please refer to previous messages with additional information and/or reach out to your student's teacher or Mrs. Cleghorn if you have any questions. Stay safe and warm!

All Southwest Parke Schools will conduct asynchronous e-learning tomorrow - Monday, January 26, 2026. Teachers will be available via email to assist with lesson related matters that may arise. Please reach out to them.
