Monday, November 11th, 2024, the school will be celebrating Veterans Day @ 9:30 AM. This will be patriotic day. Students can wear red, white, and blue for the day. We hope to see Veterans and the community here to help us celebrate. The doors labeld Gymnasium (by the flagpole) will be unlocked for vistitors at 9:00 AM.

Duties include assisting students with entry and exit, properly securing students in seats with safety belts, and monitoring students throughout travel. On the Montezuma website, under Menu, there is a copy of a newsletter, planner, and a button to an entire catalog of parental help items. The resources are for your use, and free of charge to you. They will be there the entire school year. Just a reminder that tomorrow, November 1st, 2024, is the day we have asked that all permission slips be turned in for the Skatetime School Program. If you need another permission slip, please contact your teacher. Skatetime is a program that will bring roller skates to our school and students will learn to skate during PE. This will begin on November 12th. A phone message will be going out tonight around 7:30 PM.

UPDATED LOCATION - The Southwest Parke Board of School Trustees will meet for hearings and consideration of resolutions on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 7 PM. The location of the meeting has been changed. The Board will now meet in the Riverton Parke High School Library. The public is invited to attend.

The Southwest Parke Community School Corporation Board of Trustees will meet Monday, October 28, 2024 at 7 PM in the Corporation Office to conduct the first preliminary determination hearing regarding a proposed general obligation bond. The public is invited to attend and provide comment.

Friday, September 27th, K-6 students should have brough home a Parent Teacher Conference slip for a signature. Please return those by tomorrow, October 1st. If you need to contact your teacher about the time and date, please do that. Parent teaher conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 8th.

Our Future Go Week will be celebrated October 1st through the 4th. Here are the dress up days for this.

Wednesday, September 11th, is Fall Picture Day.


This year, Southwest Parke Community Schools have opted in to taking checkpoints for the ILEARN Assessment. There are three checkpoints, the first checkpoint window opens on Monday, September 16th. The second will be in November and the third in February. During this window, your student will take a short version of the ELA and Math ILEARN Assessment. This will help us in grouping students who have needs in these two subject areas. You should be receiving a handout concerning the checkpoints soon.

The Indiana Immunization Coalition is organizing a health and resource fair in Parke County. The Parke County Health Fair will be at the Parke County Fairgrounds on October 30th from 4-7PM. All services offered are free to the participants and vendors. See the flyer for more information.
