The Panthers celebrated their Winter Homecoming with a JV and Varsity basketball win over North Central, 35-30 and 59-44 respectively, on Friday night, January 20th. The week’s festivities ended with the crowning of the 2023 Winter Homecoming king and queen, Dmitri Slobodeaniuc and Brooke Harkrider.
\r\nDmitri is the son of Tatiana and Igor Slobodeaniuc of Moldova. His host parents are Donna and Tony Greene. While at Riverton Parke, he played varsity basketball for one year. He plans to run track in the spring. He has also been a member of FFA. He has earned Student of the Month, was a Civic Education Workshop participant in Washington, D.C., and has competed in Academic Bowl in Moldova. He enjoys fishing, farming, bike riding, off-roading, basketball, playing video games, traveling, and having fun with friends.
\r\nBrooke is the daughter of Curt and Lori Harkrider. She has been a varsity cheerleader for 4 years while at Riverton Parke. She has been a member of NHS for 2 years, Student Council for 4 years, Class Officer for 4 years, and Spell Bowl for 1 year. She has received both the Academic Excellence and honor roll for 3 years. Outside of school, Brooke volunteers at Reading Bootcamp. She enjoys reading, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
