Members of the Riverton Parke FFA Chapter attended the 95th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, October 26th - 28th. While at the National Convention, members had the opportunity to attend various sessions, workshops, attend the FFA Expo, and interact with FFA members from across the nation. The week started on Wednesday by completing an Escape Room in Fishers. Members had to work together to solve various puzzles to ‘escape.’ They then attended the opening session that evening where they heard remarks from the keynote speaker, Tamika Cathings. On Thursday, members attended a student workshop about being an advocate for the agriculture industry, attended the FFA Expo, where they had the opportunity to interact with different agriculture business and college representatives, met up with the South Putnam FFA Chapter for an afternoon of fun and games, and attended the second general session where students heard the retiring address from the National FFA Secretary, Jackson Sylvester, and saw awards presented for various National Proficiencies, National Agriscience Fair, National Chapter and Career Development Events (CDEs). Friday wrapped up their time at the National FFA Convention. The morning started by watching fellow District VII FFA members from the North Putnam FFA Chapter compete in the Semi-Finals of the Parliamentary Procedures Contest. Students then had some additional time at the FFA Expo, and they attended another student workshop. The day ended by attending the fifth general session where FFA members heard the retiring address from the National FFA Western Region Vice President, Josiah Cruikshank.
