Ms. Vicars' 3rd hour Intro to 2D class completed their group mural and it is now on display next to last year's rendition of Starry Night.
This year's group chose the Spanish artist Francisco Goya. While he is lesser known than Van Gogh, his work spans decades and documents the history of Spain. He is considered the last of the old masters and the first of the new. In his early life, Goya was a portrait artist for the Spanish crown. After an illness that left him completely deaf, he created what are known as the "black paintings". One of the largest paintings in that collection, Witches Sabbath, is the favorite of this class and the subject of their mural.
