Three Named All-American Cheerleaders

Riverton Parke High School’s Varsity Cheer Team attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and Varsity Spirit summer camp at Purdue University, West Lafayette Campus, in June. This four-day camp included 16 other teams from the area. The theme of this year’s UCA Summer Camp was “Friday Night Lights!” The cheerleaders worked to build skills, confidence, routines, friendships, and memories. While in attendance, three of Riverton Parke High School’s cheerleaders were named as UCA All-American cheerleaders. This was based on jumps, All-American cheer, and camp routine dance. When an athlete makes All-American, they are invited to perform at special events across the country. Those being named All-American were freshman Emily Adams, senior Ella Harper, and sophomore Hadley Newman. Adams also earned a "Pin It Forward" award from the UCA instructors. “Pin It Forward” is one of the special duties of a staffer to recognize a camper for a quality that has made that cheerleader stand out, such as leadership and integrity.
