Riverton Parke FFA Competes in District LDE Contest

Members of the Riverton Parke FFA Chapter competed in the District VII Leadership Development Events (LDE) Contest on Friday, April 1st held at North Putnam High School.  During this contest, FFA members in grades 7 through 12 are challenged to develop critical thinking skills, foster teamwork, and promote communication through demonstrations and speeches relating to various agricultural topics.  Many of the Riverton Parke FFA members placed in the ‘Top 3’ of their respective contests.  Dalton Keltz-Purcell placed 1st in the Talent Contest.  Natalie Pruitt and Abbie Roderick created the 1st place winning Multimedia Scrapbook.  Among demonstrations, Sarah Brown and Karlie Marion placed 2nd with their Animal Science Demonstration, Jase Martin and Colton Suggs placed 2nd with their Discovery Natural Resources Demonstration, Sophie Sanders and Annie Campbell placed 2nd with their Discovery Animal Science Demonstration, and Rhylie Cannon and Emma Ugoletti placed 2nd with their Discovery Horticulture Demonstration.  Jaydon Shaffer placed 2nd in the Discovery Creed Speaking Contest, and Katilynn Koch placed 2nd in the Freshmen Creed Speaking Contest.  Katie Watson created the 3rd place Traditional Scrapbook.  Katie Watson also competed in the Employment Skills Contest and placed 5th.  Collin Watson and Jack Harrah placed 4th with their Agriculture Mechanics and Technology Demonstration.  There were two teams that competed in the Discovery Quiz Bowl.  Sophie Sanders, Annie Campbell, Emma Ugoletti, and Rhylie Cannon placed 4th, and Kenzie Mundell, Bradley McElheny, Mary-Claire Featherling, and Jaydon Shaffer placed 6th.  The chapter advisors are Micah Humphreys and Michaela Woods.
