Riverton Parke FFA Holds Annual Seed and Silent Auction

The Riverton Parke FFA Chapter held their Annual Seed and Silent Auction on Tuesday, February 8th at the Parke County Fairgrounds.  To begin, a chicken and noodle dinner was served.  Proceeds from the dinner and from a raffle that took place were donated to a local farmer, Hunter Dailey, to help with recent medical expenses.  In total, the FFA chapter was able to donate over $7,000.  Both a silent auction and live auction took place that evening.  Items available for auction included seed, farm related goods, home decor, pet supplies, gift baskets, gift certificates and much more.  All items were donated to the auction by local businesses and families.  From both the silent and live auction, the chapter raised over $20,000.  These funds will be used throughout the remainder of the year and will provide the FFA members with some great opportunities including National and State Conventions, judging contests, FFA camp, etc.  The Riverton Parke FFA Chapter is very appreciative of the community’s support and would like to thank all the businesses and families who donated items and attended this year’s auction.
