Surprise Visit Reveals Highest Award

Jennica Sutton received a surprise visit from Indiana State University representatives yesterday and was notified of her selection for a most prestigious award. She has been chosen to receive the most prized scholarship awarded by Indiana State University: the President’s Scholarship. The President’s Scholarship is awarded to an elite group of 18 incoming freshmen, providing full in-state tuition and housing. Renewable for three years, this award has a value of more than $80,000.00. Sutton underwent an extensive application process and on-campus interviews before being chosen. She was handpicked based on her academic performance in high school and personal accomplishments.

Sutton has the opportunity to be a part of the Honors College at ISU where she will attend leadership meetings, perform community service, and be given the opportunity to study abroad.

Of the award, Sutton said, “I am very excited and grateful to have received Indiana State University’s President’s Scholarship! It is such a blessing to know not only where I will be spending the next four years of my academic career, but to also have a financial burden lifted. I am looking forward to the opportunities that ISU provides such as studying abroad. I am planning to study Elementary Education. God has given me many opportunities and several incredible people that have helped get me to this point. I am so thankful!”
