Riverton Parke FFA Competes in Area Soil Judging Contest

On Thursday, October 7th, ten Riverton Parke FFA members traveled to Cloverdale to compete in the Area V Soils Judging Contest.  The purpose of the Soils Evaluation Career Development Event is to demonstrate understanding and mastery in determining soil physical properties and corresponding best use management practices for farmland use and/or home site development.  The 7th grade junior high team, consisting of Jase Martin, Cathleen McKee, and Bradley McElheny, placed 3rd in the team competition.  The 8th grade junior high team, consisting of Izzy Suggs, Colton Suggs, Emma Ugoletti, and Mary Pruitt, placed 4th.  Jase Martin was the 6th placed junior individual, and Cathleen McKee was 10th overall.  Members of the high school team included Sarah Brown, Wyatt Koch, and Hadley Newman.  The Soils Judging team is coached by FFA advisor, Micah Humphreys.
