The Riverton Parke High School National Honor Society continues to exemplify their charter’s character of service by contributing to worthy causes and performing services in their community. Paige Blackburn commented, “The happiest people in life are the ones who do the most for others. The NHS projects give me an opportunity to give back and be happy about it!” For this project, the NHS donated, gathered, and then delivered new playground items to Rosedale Elementary School and Montezuma Elementary School. The items were meant to replace broken items or add additional items to allow more students to participate in playground activities. Member, Makayla Cline said, “It was fun to reminisce. I’m glad we were able to do something for our elementary schools.” The NHS is sponsored by Kristi Johnson, and she added, “It was great to have the opportunity to give back to the schools that have given so much to us. I think it’s important for younger students to see the positive influence the NHS has on the community. I hope this small gesture makes an impact and encourages students to make a difference.”
