Members of the Riverton Parke FFA Livestock Skillathon Team competed in the State Contest on Saturday, October 2nd held at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville, Indiana. At the state contest, members compete in both individual and team portions of the contest. In the individual portion, members must identify various cuts of meat, livestock breeds, feeds and livestock equipment, take a quiz over the animal science industry, complete a quality assurance quiz, and judge classes of meat, wool, and hay. In the team portion, members work together to complete a quality assurance quiz. The junior team, consisting of team members Sophie Sanders, Emily Adams, Thomas Koch, and Kenzie Mundell, placed 3rd overall out of 17 teams. Sophie Sanders was the 2nd overall individual, and Emily Adams was 11th overall. The senior team placed 13th out of 30 teams. Team members included Sarah Brown, Ray Brown, Katilynn Koch, and Kenzie Travis. The teams were coached by FFA advisor, Michaela Woods.
