Riverton Parke FFA Attends the 92nd Indiana FFA State Convention

Riverton Parke FFA members had the opportunity to attend the 92nd Indiana FFA State Convention held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from Tuesday, June 15th to Thursday, June 17th. Four FFA members competed in the State Leadership Development Event (LDE) Contest.  Ray Brown and Seth McConnell competed virtually with their district winning Exhibit.  Hadley Newman and Kenzie Travis competed in the Discovery Plant and Soil Science Demonstration at Hamilton Southeastern High School.  Newman and Travis placed 1st in the state with their demonstration.  Members attended four general sessions where they heard retiring addresses from many of the 2020-2021 Indiana FFA State Officers, heard a keynote address from the National FFA Secretary, Anna Mathis, and watched the 2021-2022 Indiana FFA State Officer Team be installed for the coming year.  They also attended a leadership workshop put on by Co-Alliance where they broadened their understanding of what a career in agriculture looks like and how we can better represent the industry.  Dalton Keltz-Purcell shared his talent with Indiana FFA by singing during a session and at the Talent Review.  Ray Brown and Collin Watson served as the chapter’s delegates.  They attended the delegate business sessions where they had the opportunity to vote on both the District VII and State officer team slates.
