FOP Funds Football

The Parke-Vermillion Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #167 recently donated $500 to Riverton Parke Jr./Sr. High School’s football program. The Parke-Vermillion FOP is an organization consisting of sworn law enforcement officers in Parke and Vermillion counties. The national organization attempts to improve the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. The local chapter has recently been revived and its members have been focused on community involvement, fundraising, and charitable donations. While the local FOP originated and has been a long time organizer and supporter of the Cops and Kids holiday shopping event, they have most recently sponsored a Christmas scavenger hunt, buggy ride, several raffles, steak night, and trivia night. Riverton Parke’s head football coach, Brad Sanders, said, “We would like to thank the Parke-Vermillion FOP #167 for their generous donation to the RP football team.  We appreciate their support as well as all the great work they do for our community."
