February 22nd to 26th was National FFA Week. The Riverton Parke FFA Chapter celebrated with quite a few different activities throughout the week. Each day had a different dress-up day. Monday was ‘Merica Monday, Tuesday was Farmer Day, Wednesday was Dress like an Ag Teacher or Brad (McNeill) Day, Thursday was Blue and Gold Day, and Friday was Croc Day. Students drove their tractors or trucks to school on Tuesday morning. Wednesday night was the chapter movie night with pizza. Thursday morning was the Annual Farmer’s Breakfast. FFA members prepared to-go breakfast meals for local farmers to pick-up in the drive thru. Students had the opportunity to bring in money for “Kiss the Pig” all week. Students put money in the staff member’s jar they wanted to see kiss the pig on Friday. The staff member who raised the most money and had to kiss the pig was Mr. Jared Garman. From “Kiss the Pig”, the chapter raised over $200. This money is being donated to the Rob Hays Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Indiana FFA. (Rob Hays was the past Indiana FFA Director who passed away last fall. This scholarship fund will benefit many Indiana FFA members.) The chapter advisors are Micah Humphreys and Michaela Woods.
