Riverton Parke FFA “Stuffs the Truck” for Local Food Pantries

At the beginning of the month, Parke County REMC challenged Riverton Parke and Parke Heritage to a food drive competition for who could “Stuff the Truck” with the most non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items to be donated to the local food pantries with a $500 donation to the winning FFA chapter on the line.  The Riverton Parke FFA Officers decided to make this into a competition between homerooms to help collect items to be donated to this great cause.  Mrs. Woods’ 7th grade homeroom collected the most items and will receive a donut party.  In total, Riverton Parke collected over 500 items that will be donated to the food pantries in the county.  Parke County REMC was very generous and decided to donate $500 to both FFA chapters.  Ray Brown, Riverton Parke FFA Vice President stated, “We appreciate REMC’s continued support of the Riverton Parke FFA Chapter!  We look forward to using their donation to help further our involvement in the community.”
