Panthers Win Softball Regional

For the first time since 2010, the Riverton Parke softball team won the IHSAA Regional by defeating Clinton Prairie 12-2 in 6 innings on Tuesday night. 

RP scored in every inning. RP scored 4 runs in the 1st, single runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings. RP added 3 runs in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th to end the game. 

Jayleigh Inman had a double, triple, and solo home run and 3 RBI. She  also threw 6 innings allowing 4 hits 0 earned runs and struck out 4. 

Lizzy Leitgabel also had 3 hits, scored 2 runs and 2 RBI. Emma Ugoletti had 2 hits, a run and 1 RBI, Rylee Jukes had 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Maddie Lumaye had a 2 RBI double. Madison Coonce had a RBI double. 

Riverton Parke (26-4) will advance to the Semi State hosted at Frontier High School on Saturday June 7. The Panthers will face North Newton at 1:00 PM. Admission is $12.00 per session. If the Panthers win they will play the winner of the first game that day (South Central vs Southwood) at 7:00 PM.
