The Riverton Parke baseball team won IHSAA Sectional 53 over Fountain Central 2-1 on a two run single by Blake Todd in their final at bat.
Fountain Central pitcher Ayden Batchelor had not allowed a run and only 3 hits to the Panthers through 6 innings. The Mustangs scored the games lone run in the 3rd inning.
In the RP 7th, Charlie Belcher led off with a double. Kyle Price bunted and reached on a single and stole 2nd base. Blake Todd delivered the game winning hit on a single to left field.
Price was the winning pitcher with 3 scoreless innings of relief allowing 2 hits and striking out 4. Brody McConnell started the game on the mound and went 4 innings allowing only 3 hits and striking out 5.
Price also had a single earlier in the game. Jonah Hopkins and Ben Todd also had singles.
The Sectional title is the 11th for the Riverton Parke baseball program.
Riverton Parke (18-9) will play #4 ranked Clinton Prairie (20-7) in the Regional on Saturday June 7. The site and time of the game is still to be announced.
