Lady Panthers Win Sectional!

The #1 ranked Riverton Parke softball team defeated Lafayette Central Catholic 16-1 to win IHSAA Sectional 53 on Friday night. 

It was the Panthers 4th consecutive Sectional title and 17th overall as a program. 

LCC plated a run in the top of the 1st, but RP responded with 11 runs in the home half of the inning on 12 hits. 

Haylee Mathas singled, stole 2nd base and scored on a double by Jayleigh Inman. After a walk, Maddie Lumaye drove in two runs with a double. Rylee Jukes and Jacee Stonebraker followed with singles. Emma Ugoletti drove in a run with a single. Lizzy Leitgabel had a 2 RBi single. Mathas followed with a RBI triple to make the score 9-1. Lumaye had a 2 RBI single giving her 4 RBI in the inning. 

Madison Coonce did not allow a run after the 1st inning and gave up only 3 hits in her 5 innings in the circle. 

Riverton Parke (25-4) will host Clinton Prairie (19-8) on Tuesday June 3 at 7:00 PM in the Regional game. The winner of that game will advance to the semi state and play on Saturday June 7 at 1:00 at Frontier High School.
