Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids

Leslie Gackle and her 1st Block G’s will be raising awareness at RP next week in support of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Kick Butts Day is a national movement against Big Tobacco that has taken place annually for the last 25 years. It is a day for the nation’s youth to speak out and raise awareness in their communities about the problems associated with tobacco use. Kick Butts Day will take place on March 18, 2020. The 1st Block G’s will be making daily announcements, implementing a pledge wall stating why we avoid tobacco, creating a vape cloud informational piece and a large cigarette informational piece, posting locker notes with tobacco/vape statistics, and passing handouts during lunches. Even though youth smoking rates are on a downward trend and at an all-time low, skyrocketing youth e-cigarettes rates are reversing the progress made toward achieving the first tobacco-free generation. Join the fight for a tobacco-free generation!
