It was a developmental year for the robotics teams at Riverton Parke Jr./Sr. High School. At the junior high level, the robotics team practiced weekly and sometimes more frequently as competitions approached. The Riverton Parke Junior High School robotics team participated in two VEX IQ Robotics Competitions, one at Parke Heritage High School, and one at Heritage Christian School High School in Indianapolis.
\r\nThe high school robotics team was in its inaugural year and had a delayed start because a few of their game pieces were back-ordered. They divided their team into engineers and programmers and practiced every Wednesday and Thursday. After a late start to their season, the team was not able to attend competitions, but was able to scrimmage the South Vermillion High School robotics team.
\r\nRobotics encourages creativity, teamwork, leadership, passion, and problem-solving among groups, while also supporting the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. Innovation, problem-solving, and critical thinking are emphasized.
\r\nBoth the junior high and high school teams would like to thank their sponsors of the 2022-2023 Robotics Team: RFL Facility Solutions, Parke County Community Foundation, Waggle Family, Techpoint Foundation for Youth, Unlimited Green, and Chris Morris.
