Seventh and eighth graders participated in an eighteen day reading challenge in partnership with the Parke County Library and Friends of the Parke County Library group. During the eighteen days these students read a combined total of 8,715,325 words. The top eighth grader was Dennis Cottrell who read 2,036,937 words. The top seventh grader was Mya Atkinson who read 466,475 words. Participants were rewarded with a pizza party and snacks. The top reader in each grade also received an Amazon gift card.
