Four members of the Riverton Parke FFA Chapter competed in the State Meat Judging Contest held at Purdue University on Saturday, February 18th. In the Meat Judging Contest, members must identify various beef, pork, and lamb retail cuts, judge six placing classes and answer questions over two of those classes, complete yield and quality grading of beef carcasses, complete a meat formulation problem, and answer twenty multiple choice questions about the meat science industry. As a team, Riverton Parke placed 8th out of 27 teams. Individually, Sarah Brown placed 15th, and Sophie Sanders placed 18th. Rhylie Cannon and Jake Roderick were also members of the team.
