Several local businesses have donated items to make Riverton Parke Jr./Sr. High School’s Heavy Equipment Operations vocational class safer and more functional. CentreBank of Rockville donated fencing that was installed on the perimeter of the Dirt Lab area. This space is utilized for instruction and training on a variety of heavy equipment and is now clearly defined as prohibited to anyone not participating in the operations. Collom Excavating donated geotextile underlayment and Earley Farms Trucking, LLC donated over twenty tons of white rock that in combination was installed to create a new driveway to the Dirt Lab space. Students continue to gain valuable “seat time” experience in this outdoor classroom. The Heavy Equipment Operations vocational class is under the direction of teacher Brody Cobb.
