SAT

Juniors and Parents of Juniors,

All juniors will be taking the SAT test at Riverton Parke Wednesday March 6, 2024 during the morning periods.  This is a state requirement, so even if a junior student is absent on the test date, they will be required to make that up upon their return to school.  Juniors at high schools all over the state will be doing the same thing that week of March. This is a good thing because students used to have to take the SAT away from the home school and the cost is around $65.  At RP, it is FREE! It will be necessary for all juniors to bring their electronic devices with them on March 6, and have them FULLY CHARGED!

To prepare for this, there will be a required tech readiness test on February 21st in the cafeteria that the juniors will complete to make sure our devices are in sync with the testing platform.  This is also a time when the juniors can request that their SAT scores be sent to up to 5 colleges of their choice for free.  I strongly encourage all juniors to have some colleges in mind that they can list on Feb. 21st.  This will save you money in the long run.  If students do not list any colleges on the free opportunity, and decide to send those scores at a later time, College Board will charge them $15 per SAT score sheet.

A good way to prepare for the SAT is to sync the student's score sheets from their sophomore PSAT on College Board/Khan Academy for a personalized free study guide.  Some of the math classes have already had several of the students sync their scores for study time in the classroom.

I'll re-paste the instructions how to sync PSAT scores.  These have been sent out previously as well.
