Buddy Bag Program Awarded International Paper Foundation Grant

The International Paper Foundation extended their support of Riverton Parke Jr./Sr. High School’s Buddy Bag Program by granting them $3,600.00. This generous donation will fund the program for approximately one year. This money will be used to purchase food for the Buddy Bags distributed to those with weekend food insecurity at Riverton Parke. This program pairs well with International Paper’s signature cause of alleviating children’s hunger. Riverton Parke’s Buddy Bag Program was started in January 2016 and has provided approximately 3,000 bags to needy students to date. Coordinators of the Buddy Bag Program are Lisa Harmon and Leigh Ann Lawson along with community volunteers. Donations to the program are always welcomed.
